We like running. We like good clothes. And we don't think the two need to be complicated. At Izzy Sekkei, we don't necessarily make running clothes. We make clothes you can run in. Stuff that works just as well out on the road as it does grabbing a burger afterwards, hanging out with friends or just doing your thing.

We think running has become a little too serious sometimes. Too much focus on gear, technology, pace and performance. Don't get us wrong, we love that side of it too, but there's more to running than all of that. Some of our stuff is technical, some of it is good old cotton. We like mixing the two and making clothes that don't feel like traditional sportswear. You don't need to be fast, run marathons or have all the right gear to enjoy running. It's for everyone.

At the end of the day, we just like making stuff. Good design, comfortable fits, accessible prices and a bit of personality. We make things in smaller runs, try out new ideas and create clothes we'd want to wear ourselves. There's no big philosophy behind it. We just want to make good stuff, keep things interesting and hopefully have a few people enjoy it along the way.

Most of our clothing is made locally in Lavender Hill, Cape Town. We're a small brand, and making things in smaller quantities isn't always straightforward. There are challenges, things don't always go to plan, and we're still figuring a lot of it out as we go. But we enjoy the process and want to keep making as much as we can locally. The only things we've imported so far are our caps and beanies, simply because we couldn't make the specific styles we wanted here at the time. Hopefully, as we grow, we'll be able to make those here too.
